Windows Ce Remote Registry Editor

Posted on by admin
Hello everyone!
I use Nuviphone M20 with Windos Mobile 6.5. When I attempt to change the registry settings (for example, to customise the 'Today' screen), all the settings are restored to the default after reboot. How can I avoid this??
What Registry Editor are you using? There are several applications which do the job, though not all are excellent (and that's what everyone needs in case of registry editing)!

I advice you to use PHM Registry Editor it will allow you to; Explore the registry to find the operating system and applications' configuration. Modify system and applications tweaks not available from the standard options screens. Export all or parts of the registry to.reg files. Backup and restore the complete registry. Perform search on the registry data. Ofcourse everyone is on their own when changing the registry. How To Use The Windows Mobile Registry Editor. When the download completes you can start the install and the registry editor will be pushed to your Windows Mobile Device on the next sync. After that happens you will have a new icon on your device. The icon will look like this: Clicking on the icon will launch the application. Oct 24, 2006  I wouldn’t call this a bug as such – The Remote Registry Editor exports registry keys in rhe same format as the desktop including the 'REGEDIT4' at the top of the file which also needs to be removed before importing the keys into a CE registry. Windows Embedded Books. Apr 17, 2019  The RemoteRegistry Windows Service must be enabled on the remote computer you wish to view or edit the registry on. Most Windows installations disable this service by default, so don't be surprised if you run into this problem when you try to access a registry remotely. There is no regedit on CE. And.reg files also are not recognized. I read about a 'remote registry editor' from Microsoft which seems to come with the CE 'Platformbuilder', which I do not have access to. So, how can I get to add this key to my device's registry? Next hurdle: Connect to the target device. Unfortunately I do not have the target device handy but I'd like to prepare for the moment I can lay my hands on it. Selecting 'Target / Connectivity Options' in the remote registry editor I can open the Windows CE Connectivity Manager Configuration.

I advice you to use PHM Registry Editorit will allow you to;
  • Explore the registry to find the operating system and applications' configuration.
  • Modify system and applications tweaks not available from the standard options screens.
  • Export all or parts of the registry to .reg files.
  • Backup and restore the complete registry.
  • Perform search on the registry data.
Ofcourse everyone is on their own when changing the registry. When things go wrong, one must be prepaired to HARD-RESET the device; loosing all settings/contacts/photo's/etc. Sometimes a backup helps, though when dealing with the Registry, one can not be sure this will help.

Introduction

How many times have you had to edit the registry on a Pocket PC device and became frustrated because there was no registry editor on the device?. The remote registry editor was time consuming and also not available on a non-development platform such as a customer or a user site. So here I have developed a modest registry editor for the Pocket PC. I have been able to compile and test this on the Compaq IPAQ and HP Jornada. I feel the code should compile for other Pocket PC devices. If at all, only minor modifications might be required.

Inferno pdf free. The application has a similar UI to the standard registry editor (regedit) available on the Windows platform. The actual code to read the registry entry and display the values is performed in reditview.cpp. It is standard Win32 registry API and the code is mostly self explanatory.
